As The Edwards Company has grown in size over the last few years, we’ve also seen our offices get a lot busier. The buzzer is always going, doorbell always ringing which equals a lot of running up and down the stairs for our team.
To help keep things running smoothly (and to give everyone else’s legs a rest!), we decided earlier this year that it was time we found our very first receptionist.
As soon as we met Nicole, we knew she was the perfect fit for the job. Not only does she provide a friendly face for anyone entering our offices, but she also helps us keep on top of deliveries and is a star when it comes to admin and filing.
To get to know Nicole a little better, we sat down for a chat.
An Interview with Nicole
What is your work history?
When I was 16, I worked in B&M (my favourite shop!) before working in Primark at the age of 18. Following that, I began as an apprentice dental nurse, qualified and then practiced up until recently. And now I’m here!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Definitely the people!
As a child what did you want to be when you grew up? Are there any similarities between that and what you do now?
I want to be a teacher or an air steward – I suppose you have to have good organisational skills for both of those and I definitely use that skill in this role.
Favourite way to spend your lunch break?
Eating!
What is your specialist service at The Edwards Company?
Customer service! Greeting everyone who attends the premises its important they are at ease and taken care of promptly
Best office snack?
Samosas! We need another samosa day soon!
Which team member would you most like to swap jobs with for the day?
Dobby (our office mascot!) – seems like he’s got it easy!
Three words to describe your role:
Organised, important, sometimes complicated.
Funniest experience carrying out your role? (in any job!)
Accidentally knocking a cup of dental rinse all over a little girl when I was a dental nurse!
As Nicole is mainly based at our reception desk and not in our main office, it was lovely to be able to sit down with her for a proper chat!
