We are The Edwards Company

The end of 2021 is quickly approaching (anyone else still trying to process 2020, or is that just us?), so we thought it was about time we went back to basics and introduced ourselves again – it’s been a while!

We are The Edwards Company. From our West Midlands based office, we provide Virtual Assistance for businesses who require additional external support with credit control, content creation, admin and data entry.

That’s great if you actually know what any of that means! We understand that it can be incredibly frustrating when a service is unclear about what it actually is they’re offering, so we thought we’d go back to basics and talk you through exactly who we are, what we do and how we can support you so that you can make the right decision for your business.

Let’s start at the beginning…

What is a Virtual Assistant?

You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘Virtual Assistant’ pinging around the internet. You may have seen the odd post on LinkedIn, but it can be difficult to pin down a definite definition. So, we like to describe it like this:

Virtual Assistants are an extension of your team. They work externally to support the inner workings of your business and can cover a wide range of tasks that you simply haven’t got time for. Some Virtual Assistants do this from home, while others, like The Edwards Company, are office-based and work as a team to provide the best support possible.

The main aim of a Virtual Assistant is always to make your working life a little easier while simultaneously improving the effectiveness of your processes and procedures where tasks like credit control, content creation, data entry and admin are concerned. They’re also great for covering staff absence or lending a helping hand through uncertain circumstances (although we hope there aren’t any more pandemics on the horizon!)

In short, Virtual Assistants are there to support businesses like yours.

What services does The Edwards Company provide?

The short answer to this question is credit control, content creation, data entry and admin support. But, if you’re considering investing in a Virtual Assistant, you’re probably after the long answer! Here’s what each of our services covers:

Credit control – we all know credit control can be a tricky, time-consuming process. You haven’t got the time to chase late payments and reduce aged debt, and you probably don’t particularly enjoy doing it either. Our credit controllers can step in to take over this process for you, working to reduce aged debt and encourage timely payments to keep your accounts looking as healthy as possible.

Content creation – Content creation is one of those things that you know you should be doing but haven’t got the time to give it your full focus. Here at The Edwards Company, we provide monthly blog content for a wide range of clients. Whether you’re after 500 words of valuable content per month or a blog a week, our flexible, affordable packages are designed to support your content marketing journey.

Data entry – no one likes data entry. Except us. Our data entry experts can cover a wide range of data entry tasks, including; updating your online address book, generating an online database from a hard copy version, entering product codes to generate PODs and postage labels, entering data to generate invoices and statements, entering addresses and customer data to generate letters and analysing data and collecting relevant points for your reports. How many items would that tick off your to-do list?

General Admin – admin is always time-consuming, no matter what it concerns, and you probably feel like no matter how much time you spend on it, there’s always more being added to the pile. Here at The Edwards Company, we’re able to relieve you of some of those tasks, including; managing your inbox, file management, drafting letters, emailing leads, scheduling social media posts, and pretty much anything else you haven’t got time for!

We specialise in each of these services, meaning that we’re able to provide high-quality, consistent support for you and your business.

Who will be providing my service?

Deciding to delegate to a Virtual Assistant can be a bit daunting, especially if you feel like you don’t really know the person you’ll be outsourcing to. With this in mind, we thought we’d give you a little introduction to each of our team members.

The Edwards Company is run by our Managing Director, Lisa, and Director, Liz. Both have years of experience in each service we provide and work around the clock to support our clients in the best way possible.

Our Office Manager, Sarah, also happens to be an expert in credit control, as is our resident credit controller, Amy. Adel, June, Yana, Karen and Nicole provide in-house support and manage our accounts, while our content creation team, Ben and Louisa, handle all things blogs and social media. And last but certainly not least, our company mascot and favourite pup, Dobby, keeps us all awake with the odd bark and offers services in cuddling and snacking.

We’re incredibly proud of our team – each member brings a different skill to the table, enabling us to provide a complete, quality Virtual Assistance service to our clients.

How do I know I need a Virtual Assistant?

The truth is, if you’re considering one at all, you probably need one (don’t we all?). If you’re still on the fence though, here are some signs that a Virtual Assistant might be the right support solution for your business:

  • You’re working longer hours than you want to in order to keep on top of workload
  • You need an extra pair of hands but aren’t in a position to onboard extra in-house staff
  • You require expert support and advice with some tricky tasks that may not be in your area of expertise
  • You’re ready to scale your business and want to push it to the next level

Investing in a Virtual Assistant will only ever benefit your business. If you’d like more information on the services we offer or just about Virtual Assistants in general, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
